Staying busy here at hale multimedia. Many projects have been completed since my last post and many new projects have come aboard. We have really expanded as it is in production but also in the world of media its self. We are one of the top sponsors for Scottsbluff County Fair this year and have also come up with a wonderful website. It looks great! Good job Joy! We wont stop just here. Keepin our faith in success we are striving forward.

Great News... Joy and Suzy have been hired as our two new programmers and welcome to them!
Also I read a little on twitter... and set up my first twitter acct today.
Some interested things about twitter.. Twitter, like face book for example, is an information network that also uses the power of social media to allow people, organizations and businesses to discover and share new information. Now when you tweet it shares information with others that you follow and that follow you. Anyone can find you on twitter by using key words in search. I also learned that twitter uses Topsy, its own search engine. Twitter will also help you promote your business. Twitter gives the opportunity to feature a trend related to your business making it easier for potential customers to locate you. It gives you massive exposure creating not only presence to the public eye but also the opportunity to discover new and exciting information that may benefit your business as well. So far the only difference that I have found between Twitter and Face Book is twitter uses its own search engine. How many people are ad ware of Topsy? I just found out about it yesterday. I'm still use to Google and MSN. Even though twitter does use its own search engine... today's technology does allow you to link a face book account to your twitter account so It is easier for potential clients to find you anywhere. Can you connect your twitter to your face book account? No you cant create a twitter page and connect it with other information networks. But you can connect face book, my space etc or anything to your twitter account.

I completed a policy and procedures portion of the company policy manual today. I also added a brief company history as well. piece by piece i am putting this thing together.
Brian interviewed Joy Huber today. She is interested in the programmer position. I also learned while listening in a bit that she can be helpful in web designing as well. She seems to be interested in the position and seems as if she will fit right in.
Here is a look at what i have put together today in our policy manual...

A Brief History:

Hale Multimedia is an Internet Marketing Agency located in western Nebraska. The company specializes in Website Design, Website Hosting and Radio Broadcasting. Hale Multimedia has been designing and hosting websites since 1996. We have designed over 1000 websites since then. Hale Multimedia broadcasts 25+ U.S. radio stations. The radio stations stretch out over 9 states including Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota and New Mexico. The majority of our clients are affiliated with an agricultural based product or service. However, we are open to opportunities with any small business regardless of its nature.
Hale Multimedia also focuses on Social Marketing. Our purpose is to create a social network with small businesses to help expose their business further out to the public eye. The purpose of Social Marketing is to advertise products and services through media to motivate potential clients. Social media allows communication between people with similar interests and provides great opportunities if productivity is prompt.


Policies and Procedures:


Attendance: Excellent attendance is required. Employees and staff that comply to this policy will be more productive as a team doing so.

Parking: Employees will be directed to park behind the building. Parking lot is located east of the front entrance.

Work Schedule: Employees will be scheduled 40 hrs or less per week, Monday through Friday. (Depending on position and availability)

Meetings: Employees are encouraged to attend all meeting for their benefit. However, not all meetings will be mandatory unless advised so.

Board meetings/ bulletin boards: Monthly projects will be planned and assigned on a weekly basis during business hours.

Lunch: employees are scheduled a one hour lunch daily.

Breaks: Employees are encouraged to take 5 or 10 min breaks every two hours.

Smoking: This is a smoke free workplace. However, smoking is allowed in designated areas.

Dress Code: Business casual attire will be required. Employees will be expected to address themselves in a professional manner.

Overtime: Employees may be offered additional hours if available. Overtime will be paid at normal hourly wage.

Wage/Salary: Employees will be paid at an hourly wage.

Payroll: Payroll is calculated and disbursed at the end of every 2 week pay period. Payroll may be disbursed weekly if available.

Commissions: Commissions are payable upon collection, and are paid on the next scheduled payday.

Performance and Evaluation Review: Employees will be reviewed on performance. Informal review will be performed monthly and formal review will be performed every quarter.

Safety: Employees will be required to comply with all safety and health requirements. Employees will need to maintain a safe and healthy workplace by identifying hazards and unsafe work practices.

Code of Conduct:


1. Compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations:
a. All employees and superiors must comply with city and state laws, rules and regulations Hale Multimedia LLC affiliates with.
b. Employees are encouraged to report any illegal or inappropriate behavior to a supervisor/manager.
c. Violation of any City and State laws, rules or regulations may lead to disciplinary action which may include termination.

2. Conflict of Interest:
a. Conflict of interest is defined when ones private interest interferes with the interests of the company.
b. Employees must bring any conflict to attention of their superior.

3. Confidentiality/ Information recording:
a. All company and Non public information must be confidential.
b. Employees cannot share any private company, client or personnel information with anyone.
c. Employees are responsible for being honest, accurate and timely recording, reporting and handling any information to make responsible company decisions.
d. Violation of sharing confidential information to anyone unauthorized will lead to termination.

4. Protection and use of Company assets:
a. Employees must not use for themselves any company property, information or position without superior approval.
b. Company assets should NOT be used for non-company related business.
c. The use of company property without such consent leads to disciplinary action.

5. Competition and fair dealing:
a. Superior performance = Competitive advantage
b. Employees must be competitive in a fair and honest manner.
c. Employees must respect the rights of company clients, suppliers, competitors and fellow employees.

6. Political Contributions:
a. Employees may make personal political contributions.
b. Employees may NOT use company funds for any political or even personal contribution.


c. Violation by using company funds for any unauthorized purpose will lead to disciplinary action.

7. Discrimination/Harassment
a. Discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin or any other class is prohibited!
b. Diversity may be a large company asset.
c. Violation of this code leads to disciplinary action which may include termination.

8. Health and safety:
a. Employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
b. Violence and threatening behavior is prohibited. Employees must be able to work together in a proper and professional manner. Violation of this code will lead to termination.
c. Employees must report any accidents, injuries and/or unsafe equipment.
d. There will be a zero tolerance for any violence or horse play in thw work area.

9. Ask first, Act later
a. Employees that question anything are encouraged to ask before acting.
b. This is important because one mistake may lead to a million failures.

10. Complying to the Code of conduct:
a. Employees must conduct themselves accordingly and avoid the appearance of improper behavior.
b. We must all work to ensure rapid and regular action against violation of this code.
c. Those who violate the standards in this code of conduct will be subject to disciplinary action or even termination of employment.

As we are moving forward.. we have discovered what are focus is at the moment. As I have mentioned previously I am conducting a Company Policy Manual. This company manual is our structure. Structure is important in a business. We all must have organized regulations to abide by in order to function together in a productive and professional manner. I have put together a few things in this manual so far that begin "The Process". We plan to refine the original process into this company manual. So here is my work so far...

Business here is moving forward. I was promoted to Office Manager last week and Andrea has now been promoted to production manager. All customer support has moved under Brian's and my control. We will be putting together a company policy manual. Yes we all must have rules and regulations to follow :) Organization is another bid step of that we are accomplishing. The better order we have things the more prompt we will be in working on prospects and other tasks we inquire. Just another step into our expansion. Little by Little I have faith that we WILL reach the main goal here!

Job Description

• Job Duties
o Opening office. 7:30 am to 4:30 pm or later. Being here on time is exceptional. Must be reliable and here on time to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
o Making sure office place is presentable for clients. This includes organization and cleaning skills. Being clean and organized makes a good impression of us to our current and potential clients.
o Checking messages, building task list for the day, taking phone calls, setting appointments. It is important to make sure all existing and new client’s needs are taken care of on a daily basis. As well as the office needs. Being Prompt leads to customer satisfaction.
o Inventory. Make sure that supplies are available for when needed.
o Opening duties also include small request. Making coffee etc.
o Deposits and Invoices. You will be responsible for taking deposits to bank as well as sending out billing invoices for each client.
o Completing all tasks before closing. Tasks may include; checking websites for upgrades, following up with clients for any recommendations or concerns they may have, posting significant information, etc.

• Job Skills
o Communication skills; Must have to ability to communicate via telephone.
o Money matters. Must be reliable to handle deposits and send out billing invoices.
o Operating Equipment; must be able to operate a computer, copier, printer etc.
o This is an Internet based Company. Therefore, the ability to navigate online will be helpful for you.

Well to start... I was promoted to office manager with a $2 raise. Exciting!! Today I had my first experience with Social Marketing. I set up a face book account for one of our clients. Oregon Trail Wagon Train is now a face book member. Face book, A social network, is going to be a great way to promote the business! I plan to keep an eye on the facebook page to see what results we get. This first objective will hopefully be helpful for me as I search to find knowlege in this area.
Im getting ready to build a job description as well for Social Marketers. Hale Multimedia is soon offering positions. So far, skills that I will include are as follows; communication skills, social skills, research skills, and computer skills.
Communication  and social skills are important in social media. You must be able and feel comfortable communicating and socializing with others.  Research and computer skills is also a necessity. Employees will need to know basic computer functions and will need to be aware of how to research for potential clients/customers and new techniques that may be helpful. Those whom wish to be included in our social marketing department will learn about social media marketing as they will go through a training period. Social Media is the ability to communicate and interact with other peole that have similar interest. As i understand it we will be inquiring a Social Media Training Program for this position and there will be a fee.   We have not yet discussed how this training program will work or what the fee will be. However, This should be discussed shortly.

Studied a little today...

Studied a little today... just as a note... Hale multimedia has been an ongoing experience since 1996.  1bestsearch.com was launched in 2008 to create and maintain a great search engine designed to include several areas of the country in one database keeping them separated by region or area of country. Hale Multimedia is leading in radio broadcasting through 9 states, 20+ radio stations. I also noted pricing information for my own need. Pricing varies... the ideal price quote depends on client needs and desires. additional service requested $50/hr and for website training. Redesign etc.. 50% discount to existing clients. Website Marketing involes us fully exposing client product and service to motivate client consumers. With website hosting/marketing and radio broadcasting... already have stepped up the game towards social marketing being a big SUCCESS! interesting .. its already falling together!

Its Friday... and a beautiful day!  Started out my day reading up on hale multimedia news. Im trying to get a good feel of things working here. Time to get some learning done. I was told today that i will begin learning into social marketing soon. Though I took it upon myself to get a little head start.
Learning about how this company fully operates will be very important for me to know. If I plan to help promote business and expand value for the company I must know what I can offer to potential clients in order to gain their interest in opportunities that are provided to them. So I begin today, actually yesterday :), to read up on the progress that has been made here at hale multimedia and the great products and services that the company is known for.
After gaining confidence myself and the knowledge I need to move forward ... I will also have gained more interest in social marketing. At the same time training myself to be a successful social marketer.

Interesting... this morning I opened office and as soon as i pulled up my browser ... i don't know why but this site automatically pulled up http://dannybrown.me/2010/09/20/social-media-for-your-business/ . The first thing i saw that caught my eye was the keyword Social Media.. So i began reading and it is interesting because this piece kind of follows yesterdays post. The author is Danny Brown. In this piece Brown points out a few topics that seem to be most helpful for me because i am completely new to social Marketing. But I think this really helps me put my thinking cap on.. and will help prepare me for what I am soon to be learning. Brown mentions that among all business's into social media, there are a few areas that business owners need to understand about social media. Here is a quote from brown himself that i read, "Social media is also perfect for reaching out and connecting with your audience, as opposed to just selling them something. Sure, you’re still selling your brand or product – but this time, it’s in an “encouraging to ask questions” approach instead of “this is us and you’ll like it” one." So back to yesterdays post I mentioned three keywords that involve beginning a Social Marketing trade; Knowledge, purpose, and who are the clients we are looking for. I stand behind browns note that Social Media is a good tool to use not only to sell products and services, but to learn about our potential clients. And no other perfect way then to start by asking questions...  What can  Hale multimedia do to bring value to your business. I do believe that we should listen to clients needs and that will help us approach different opportunities to expand. This topic mentioned by brown is perfect and makes me realize that If we do put clients first it will lead us successful into the knowledge we need to have and give us a purpose to what we need to do to be successful. And last but not least it will help us indicate what clients will be best for us to look into.  Just thought this was interesting and wanted to share my thoughts.

Social Marketing is a big topic here with Hale multimedia. It is a new task that we are getting involved in to expand the company.The objective is to reach out to others about Hale multimedia to potentially bring in new business. My definition of Social Marketing from what i have gained so far is simply to socialize with others while representing A company in means to offer and sell products and services to future clients potentially expanding their business as well. . My goal with this is to interact with clients that have potential to be interested in Hale multimedia and the services we have to offer... and hopefully promote the expansion of the company. We will be starting with a few Social Marketers to help bring clients in and expand from there. So what will lead to this accomplishment. First we need knowledge. Understanding and knowing what Hale Multimedia is, what the purpose for expanding the business is and what clients do we need to find to fulfill that purpose.  I know that Hale multimedia is an Internet Marketing Agency.We host and design websites to promote business. What is our purpose in expanding the business? Right now Hale multimedia is a local business here in our community. Most clients are local however there are a few in surrounding states. there fore i believe the purpose for expanding our name out there with social marketing is to potentially go state wide and open more opportunities for us to offer along the way. What type of Clients are we looking for? Any productive buisness owners that need our help to expand their business name and increase their value. So now that I have the picture in mind, I need to learn more about Hale Multimedia and its history and and start brainstorming ideas.  Here is my first goal.. we will see what tomorrow brings.
